New version of Elvis painting from 1980

When I was young the only thing I draw and painted were Elvis portraits. Some of them are still around, for example this one.
I decided to make a new version of this painting because I still like this photo a lot and to see how much progres I made in the past 34 years :-)
The size of the new painting will be 40 x 40 cm, oil on canvas.

New Pencil Portrait

I started a new pencil portrait of Elvis. On the internet I found some new techniques I want to try. This portrait is going to be as detailed and realistic as possible.
Many hours to go! Soon more updates.

The Eyes of the King

After all those Charcoal drawings it was time for a "detailed" drawing with graphite. A study of Elvis' eyes. Below are a few "Work in Progress" images.

Experiment with pastel. The pastel pencils were lying around in the studio for a long time. I bought a few browns because the box of 12 colors you will not get you very far with regard to skin color.
